Roxie Lovett Caught Stylin'

My four sons took me out to lunch today across the street at The Blue Plate. The conversation was going pretty good until all of a sudden it just stopped. Roxie Lovett is back in town helping her daddy down at the insurance place and when she walked in all four of the boys stopped talking and turned around. It was really funny.
Roxie would have probably stopped traffic had she been outside. She was stylin'! So much so that I had to put her in the fashion blog. So look alive Laurens County-you just never know when you might get caught stylin'.

Roxie in heels with a denim jacket. Dressing up and down at the same time is ultra cool and Roxie is leading the way!

Fashion Movie of Decade- 17s only

I know this movie is not appropriate for people younger than 17,
however for those of us over that number-
this is THE fashion movie of the decade
and this article is G rated.

Can women alone make ’Sex and the City’ a hit?

By JOCELYN NOVECK

NEW YORK (AP) — Can a pure chick flick become a hit? Yes, if it draws a diverse enough swath of female moviegoers. For ‘‘Sex and the City,’’ that will be the big question.
There are indications that the film, which opens Friday, is attracting a lot of interest from women of all ages — not just the age of the four lead actresses, who range from their early 40s to just over 50.
‘‘We can’t remember the last time a movie has created so much anticipation among female moviegoers from their 20s through their 40s,’’ said Harry Medved, a spokesman for Fandango, the online movie ticket site.
Medved said many women seem to be planning to go in groups. ‘‘We are getting a surprising number of requests for group ticket sales from women planning ’Sex and the City’ get-togethers,’’ he said.
It’s not just the ticket sellers who are noticing the trend. Abbey Greenberg, co-owner of a specialty cookie company, says she’s been getting calls by the dozens for her stiletto-shoe creations.
‘‘It’s been crazy,’’ says Greenberg, of The Flour Pot, which is based in Ambler, Pa. ‘‘They start out by saying they want the shoe cookies. Then they say they need them for May 30th. Of course it turns out it’s for a ’Sex and the City’ party.’’
Often, the hostesses say they’ll be drinking Cosmpolitans before the movie, too — the favorite drink, as fans of the HBO series well know, of sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw and her pals, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte. Sometimes the hostesses add that they’ll be dressing up in high style, as well.
‘‘This movie just calls out for a girl’s night out,’’ says Greenberg, 27, who herself plans to see the film with a group of women, although not opening night, and not specially attired. ‘‘I’ll wait until it’s less crazy,’’ she says...
Oh, and asked their gender, 94 percent of ticket buyers said they were women.
You only have to look back two years to ‘‘The Devil Wears Prada,’’ another female-oriented film heavy on fashion (with the same costume designer) and juicy female characters, to find a movie that scored big despite an overwhelmingly female demographic.
But there’s a difference: ‘‘Prada’’ was rated PG-13, whereas ‘‘Sex and the City’’ is rated R, with good reason, as any fan of the often explicit series knows. That will severely limit the teen audience (those under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
‘‘This movie really will be a paternity test for R-rated female-driven romantic comedies,’’ said analyst Jeff Bock of box office tracker Reel Source. ‘‘There haven’t been a lot of movies like this.’’ Bock predicts the movie will have a strong opening weekend, then a big drop-off. ‘‘There’s no getting around that this is a film oriented to women and gay men,’’ he said. ‘‘It will be very hard to get past that, especially with a lot of testosterone-driven films out there this summer.’’ The End

I just so disagree that a guy would not like this movie. I mean, it is full of great looking gals.
So girls, don't let your guys weasel out of going to this movie.
If you get to see it
tell me what the
best looking clothes were!!!!!!!

Dunking Fashion & Question

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your fashion sense for a good cause. That is exactly what John Strickland was willing to do when he agreed to get "Get Dunked." We like it when people are willing to think outside the box and inside the tank.

Is this the opposite of the wet T-Shirt contest? Whatever....we tip our Manolo Blahniks to the brave men and women able to get outside their fashion comfort zone to do the right thing...and this picture leads me to the next Question of the Moment:

"What is your favorite bathing suit for the summer of 2008?"

so start sending in your answers: next week's best of
Your Passion 4 Fashion will be in the newspaper before you know it- Just like today.

That's right my little fashionistas-
Your Passion 4 Fashion
comes out today in Your Courier Herald,
so go get an issue and put us up on your boards!

Sarah Brinson and Summer 2008

I just found this from Sara Brinson telling me she loves Steve Madden. I could not agree more. I have a pair of his cork wedges that I have seen on several rock stars that I will be totally depressed over if they ever get too worn out to wear. In the meantime here is what Sarah Brinson thinks on the question of the moment:

"Who is the hottest designer for Summer 2008?

"I think the hottest designer for summer 2008 is Steve Madden. His line includes shoes, dresses, jewelry, handbags, and sunglasses. I love Steve Madden shoes. There are so many to choose from. He makes many fun colorful sandals and heels that are very great for summertime."
-Sarah Brinson

Steve is all over the net,so I may go find a cool video of his after the paper runs. Stay tuned.

3 Hot Designers 2008

3 Fashionista girls have sent in their answers to the
Question of the Moment,
Who is the Hottest Designer of Summer 2008?

"To me, Lilly Pulitzer is the hottest designer for summer 2008. In her summer collection, there is seriously everything you could want: she has GREAT dresses and shoes, as well as bathing suits, bags, pants, shirts, skirts, shorts, sweaters, and jewelry. They even have golf and tennis wear. The Lilly Pulitzer look is a mix of modern and classic, there are great patterns as well as those looks that will never go out of style!"
- Allison Porter

"The summer to me is all about comfort and being beach ready! Therefore my favorite designer for this summer is Michael Cohen, owns and operates Michael Stars. His 2008 Summer Collection offers a variety of easy to wear dresses that allow you to go from the pool to dinner with friends. He is one of this summers hottest designers."
-Holly Hooks

"Marc Jacobs, by far. He's the hottest designer for every season! He has an unique vision and well executed clothing. You can image my excitement when Georgia got our own Marc Jacobs store in Savannah!"- Marc Jacobs

Here is a photo of Marc and Posh. If anyone in Dublin wears this dress it may need a little cami under the top, but he does make great clothes. I did not know he had a store in Savannah- see you learn fashion tips here everyday!

I found the following on the SCAD website: (who knew?)

SCAD presents annual fashion show with Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs, Fashion Show 2007SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah College of Art and Design will honor fashion legend Marc Jacobs at the college’s annual fashion show Saturday, May 19, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Vogue editor-at-large AndrĂ© Leon Talley and SCAD President Paula S. Wallace will present Jacobs with the AndrĂ© Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award at the 8 p.m. show.

Awesome Prom Picture

Your Passion 4 Fashion was printed in Your Courier Herald today
and if I do say so myself, "It was Soooo Fashionable!!!" I hope you saw it . There was so much fantastic fashion juice that I had to add a column to fit it all in. And the news on the side of the page was FASHION NEWS! Wow, today just can't get much better than this...and then... I got a surprise e-mail from one of my fashionistas saying she had a prom photo and when I clicked on it poof! there she was with one of the boys I am always referring to. And I must say they are awesome ( and it is not just because I'm the mama.) Thanks Maggie for sending it in. Inman is a lucky fellow! Now you know they are stylin'.

So keep sending in the Prom Photos! Life is good.

11 Fashionistas:) Best Bag Ever Answered

Your Passion 4 Fashion's " Official Fashionista Board" has reported in on the question of the moment just in time to get this blog ready to be printed in Tuesday's edition of The Courier Herald... AND the question of the moment is:

If you could have any bag in the world which one would you pick and why?
Give the type (hobo, clutch, etc... and brand and describe it.)

Laura Leigh Gillis says, "I LOVE bags and I can’t ever get enough of them! Right now I am obsessed with Fendi’s “Crocodile F3” from their Fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection. If I thought I would live, I would sell my right lung to pay for it (and I would pretty much have to for anything with the Fendi name) Unfortunately, I need the lung, so another great designer that I feel like I preach and have prayer over is Isabella Fiore. Fiore designs awesome bags and other accessories that have a very trendy and funky flare. I can’t recall any bag from this line that I didn’t absolutely love!"

Kylie Hinson says, "Dooney and Bourke, bubble print, hobo style. I like it because it is big enough for all my stuff and the different color print goes with everything!"

Nicole Castillo says, "I would have to say Chanel's L.A. bag. While its white color makes it look classic, its chain handle gives it an urban feel, creating a sophisticated and edgy look!"

Sarah Brinson says, "Right now I would get a leather zebra Dooney and Bourke tote bag. The bag is black and white zebra print outlined in red. Its a really good size and its great colors for a Georgia fan!"

Maggie Moses says, "I would love to have the Dooney and Bourke Chiara bag. It's a big patent leather bag. Large bags are the greatest. I would get it in either red or white. Red is my favorite color, but I would probably go with the white because white bags are the rage!"

Camille Cox pictured at right with the precious puppy says, "For this weeks question on the purses: I would LOVE a Free People Designs feedbag style beach tote with braided straps. I attached a picture of this purse, so if you want you can use it with the fashion layout for this week. " I did.

Jordan Hampton says, "One bag that I truly love is a Dolce and Gabbana tote. This wonderful bag is rather large in size. Grey patten leather covers the tote with long enough straps to be comfortable to throw over your shoulder( a very important factor to me). It flaunts a good fashion sense and shows that you are not scared to be a little different. Though most cannot afford this thousand dollar tote( like me:) ), it is a simple style that can be found in reasonable prices from other designers!"

Ashley Watson says, "I don’t really carry a bag too much, but I just get them from my Nanny( my grandmother Jewel Garnto) She gave me a Kathy Zeeland bag I really like. It is brown with gold. She gets new ones all the time. The one she has now is a shopper bag, but everyone calls it a buckle Bag."

Holly Hooks says, "If I could purchase any handbag in the world it would be The Crocodile Ricky Bag by Ralph Lauren. The bag is crafted from fine African crocodile with custom Italian hardware, and finished a hot pink color."
I love Ralph Lauren.com and you can see the following and several other things Ralph when you go.

Love the color too!

Allison Porter, "My dream bag is a big brown Roberto Cavalli Acapulco extra large hobo. It is big enough that I could fit whatever I want to (plus more) inside of it, and I love it's odd shape. The price is a little too much for me, but I guess thats why I call it my DREAM bag. :)" See it right below!

Cavalli above and Balenciaga below.

Ammie Williams told us about the Balenciaga bag she wanted in the last post.
Well, we got a photo of it and it is a winner! Ammie has excellent taste!
Ammie is seen below, dreaming of the bag!

To get all the details on Ammie's bag keep scrolling to a lower blog.
And don't forget to check the Courier Herald for the printed version of this week's Your Passion 4 Fashion blog!

and while I am at it- next week's fashionista question of the moment is:
" Who is the hottest designer for summer 2008? and why?

Question of the moment

In answer to the question of the moment,
"If you could have any bag in the world which one would you pick and why?"Give the type (hobo, clutch, etc... and brand and describe it.)

She says this bag is her
"all time favorite bag. I would love to have this Balenciaga bag for spring and summer. Too bad it's out of my price range..."

Ammie Williams went one step further and gave us a link to it.

It is a Lambskin and Coquelicot Japonais printed textile with palladium plated metal hardware, atop zip closure, hand stitched handles, 4.3'' drop, a removable shoulder strap 8.2'' drop, a front zip pocket, a leather framed hand mirror, with fine textile lining, an interior zip pocket with Balenciaga embossed leather tag • 15'' x 9.8'' x 3.9'' • 2.4 lbs • made in Italy.
And this may be why it is a little out of Ammie's price range.
It is $1,595.00
That is in gold for a reason!

Ammie says, "here is a link to the bag of my dreams."
click here to see what the bag of her dreams looks like

but don't forget to come back now , ya' hear.

New Prom Dresses Photos

(remember you can click on photos to get a better view)

This is a "fun" photo of my darling niece Allison Porter and her date David Cutler. Love the white cane and deep jewel, tones like this prom dress. Bright/dark colors made a big splash this prom season. Looks terrific Allison!

The boy in the next photo is Thomas Purvis or as all the young girls say, "the hunky star goalie of the DHS Soccer team" with his prom date, Shay Holliday. Love the way the dress matches the pool and the sky! Beautiful.

The next three girls just want to have fun. From left to right, Camile Cox, Shay Holiday and Lauren Head. They did have prom dates, just not in this photo. Their dates, (left to right) were Hill Lawrence, Thomas Purvis, and Brandon Brown. Maybe we'll post Hill and brandon later!

I will be posting more fabulous Prom Pictures as they come in so keep sending and now you need to tell me your answer to the fashion question of the moment:
If you could have any bag in the world which one would you pick and why?
Give the type (hobo, clutch, etc... and brand and describe it.)

Fun Old People

See how much fun we have. These two fashionista mamas know how to have a good time and look good. Love, love, love the brown and white for summer! And that soccer boy is stylin'.

Sushi Style and Boy Advice

Left work last night famished. Had to have my "cheater sushi." Fried shrimp tempura rolls- nothing raw about them, they just look like sushi- it's the only thing sushi about them. ( Can't have them often though as fried is a euphemism for "apply directly to the thighs."
I saw a darling couple at Little Toyko. They looked so stylin' I had to include their photo today.

Now my young fashionistas, this is what you are suppose to look like when you go out on a date. She is just so smart in that dress and that big hobo bag on her arm... and see what taking the time to look fashionable will get you as an accessory for the other arm. I mean what a doll and he is dressed like he cares about her too. Listen up guys, "If you want the girl to know you like her ( but you aren't verbal- like most of you young guys I know) dress like a date with her is a special occasion. I mean if you want to take out a stylin' girl, make some effort! I mean Really, this guy doesn't have a darling, smiling girl on his arm because he's grimy you know. Listen to ya mama and you just might catch a fashionista!

Gucci Clad Truck

Does it have to be clothes? I was walking down the street in Dublin, Georgia when I saw a truck the likes of which I had never seen before. And knowing you would want to see it too I tracked down its owner- Josh Ussery who was in Lost Treasures Antique, Collectibles, Memorabilia which is a new store opening in Downtown Dublin Tomorrow.
Josh Ussery got this beauty when he graduated from East Laurens High School. But it was not all good news. Josh's truck was hit by a girl and he did not even get to drive it to his Prom! (Send me your Prom Pictures hint hint) A story he still tells with passion. I asked him if I could see inside and that, my fashionistas is when I saw the Gucci lined interior. I mean really, Gucci, in a truck in downtown Dublin! And here is the photo just in case you think I may be "fabricating." If you click on it you can see the little Gs.

So keep looking for stylin. You never know when you just might get caught!

Britney Spears Can't drive

Associated Press just sent word that our little Miss Fortune had another fender bender without the bender. Why is she driving? I mean even without all the stuff , why is she driving? Hire someone to drive you already! I think this whole Miss Fortune situation is due to a lack of having anyone to truly care for her- so even though this is not directly fashion related (although those of us who love fashion have been known to love our celebrities) here is what I say to the boys every time they leave the house.
"Wear your seatbelt, watch out for deer, I Love You!"
Maybe substitute paparazzi for deer, but if you don't have someone to tell you that each time you leave the house- just say it to yourself for me. And here is the A.P.story filed at 6:51p.m. today-

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Another Britney Spears fender-bender, another instant online video.
Paparazzi had cameras rolling when the pop star’s white Mercedes-Benz coupe rear-ended a red Ford Explorer Tuesday in Beverly Hills.
The video, posted on TMZ.com, shows Spears in the driver’s seat. Wearing a ponytail and aviator shades, she covers her mouth with her hand after realizing she hit the car in front of her.
No one was injured and police were not involved. Photos and video do not reveal any visible damage to either car.
The 26-year-old’s bodyguard, who was riding in the passenger seat, gave Spears’ information to the female driver of the SUV, People.com and TMZ reported.
Spears was involved in a separate fender-bender on April 12. No one was injured or cited in that accident.

Here is a link to TMZ.com, but really it is nothing but Britney with her hand over her mouth and two cars. Really.

Two Girls Extra

These two darling girls answered the question of the moment, but not in time to get into today's Courier Herald. What is it with you young people and texting instead of e-mailing? The boys want me to set up my official Fashionista board to text in their answers. Thank goodness I have them to bring me kicking and screaming into ya'll's high tech world...and here is what the too late, but still stylin' girls had to say about the question of the moment:

Q. Which American Idol is the most stylin' and why?

Sarah Brinson says- "I think that Brooke White is the most stylin' American Idol
contestant. She always looks super cute. Her clothes, jewelry and shoes always
look really good together. I can't pick out a favorite outfit she wore because they
are all stylish. However, I especially liked her yellow dress with ruffels she wore at
one of the performances.

And here is what

Ashley Watson
had to say about it-
"Haha, Syesha because she's got that black thang goin' for her.
Hahaha jk but she does dress pretty sweetly. I don't really know how to answer
that. And David Cook has the whole preppy-punk thing going on. It's hot! Haha

Ashley is so cute and funny. You have to imagine her talking out loud in your head, because she does laugh the whole time she is talking. She is a happy camper. Pretty, smart and stylin'- Laurens County has some high quality fashionistas. Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog when you learn
the next...Question of the moment!
(and don't forget to see Your Passion 4 Fashion blog
disguised as a column in today's edition of The Courier Herald.)

Prom Pictures Gimme'

Also I have so many darling and "WAY Fashionable Prom Pictures" that I think you all should send me yours and I will post them on this passionately fashionable blog.

We might even take a vote and put the most popular in the newspaper. What do you think?

Just send me ONE, your favorite Prom Photo and give me your name and that of your date.

Who had the best looking dress in Laurens County? We'll see!

Rockin' It

I love it when people surprise me. Mrs. Caroline Bell was at church Sunday and got caught stylin'. Look at the print, look at the sleeves, look at one happy person. How could you not want to be around such an interesting person. You know they have something to say, something to add to the conversation, a player.
Lose the bland people! Get your fashionista on! Rock it.

Be Happy With It

I found this really wonderful picture of these Japanese girls on the masamania.com website- These girls are willing to take a fashion risk. When you think about it, if you saw them walking by, now wouldn't you smile, feel happy, come out of the doldrums? So why not try something new in fashion? The good thing about fashion "don'ts" is they only last until you get back home. So try something that makes you happy! SMILE:)
