Jena Clem is a Fighter

I don't know the background story on Jena Clem and how she came to be the Director and Producer, but I do know she was in charge of the fabulous Fight for Fashion that benefited the American Cancer Society- of which all the money raised stayed in Laurens County. Below is a darling photo of Jena as she came out at the end of the show, to the applause of the crowd-which she certainly deserved.

Below Mark Boles, M.D. was the Emcee and kept things rolling during the first half of then show- and then the music starting pumping and the models started moving.

It was all very exciting and I sat next to the darling Ashley Quinn who was dressed in a silk frock so popular with the young girls. She bought it at Maurice's and had a Vera Bradley bag from Smith's right here in downtown Dublin. See it all below.

At then end of the show in the spot where they had been projecting slides with the logos of participating stores, they had a shot of Your Passion for Fashion Blog logo. It was just too good to be true and a great way to end the day. We all had a great time for a good cause.
I put the non-blurry photos up on this blog earlier in the day, so keep scrolling down for a slide show of some of the highlights from the show! I bet you see someone you know.

Jena Clem is not only a fighter but a "winning fighter," which was very apparent as she entered "the ring" Sunday afternoon! Having seen Jena through the years grow into the confident and compassionate young woman she has become has truly been a privilege. In my capacity as a member of the Dublin-Heart of Georgia Employer Committee, one of the sponsors of the event, I was absolutely spellbound by the efforts of this young woman. In the early planning stages for the show, Jena was asked why she wanted to do this. I quote her response, "Because I have been wanting to give back so I decided to do something I'm passionate about - to raise money for the Cancer Society. I am not able to contribute hundreds of dollars but I am able to put on events that will." How proud the citizens of Dublin and Laurens County should be to have one of our own young people come back home and passionately fight cancer while utilizing her life's dream of a career in fashion! Jena will graduate May 10, 2008 from Georgia Southern University with a major in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Business Marketing. Congratulations Jena!

I want to thank everyone for coming out Sunday afternoon and supporting the American Cancer Society. I believe the show was a huge success and none of this would have been possible without the wonderful merchants, models, backstage help, sponsors, ticket sales, and love and support from my friends and family. So thank you Dublin, for making this all possible! We are such a close community and are capable of doing huge things.
